Event description:

The Yale Quantitative Blitz is a round-robin-style event presented by Yale faculty and hosted by the Yale Institute for Network Science. Faculty from Statistics and Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Network Science, Digital Humanities Lab, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Quantum Computing, and Computer Science will “blitz,” providing a glimpse of their current research and the latest developments in quantitative sciences at Yale. Attendees will get a bird’s-eye view of the rapid growth occurring across a broad cross-section of quantitative disciplines at Yale. Key pivots at Yale include the new Data Science major/minor (launched this year), new Data Analytics courses across campus, new experiential learning opportunities, and exploding student interest in Computer Science. Although student interest in these areas has been extraordinary, the interdisciplinary passions emerging at Yale are perhaps most fascinating, resulting in great demand for non-major course offerings. Attendees will be the first to be introduced to the Quantitative Alliance at Yale, an emerging initiative actively seeking new ways for partners in industry to engage directly with researchers.
